President's Message
Greetings from the Jackson (MS) Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. On behalf of our chapter, it is my sincere honor and privilege to welcome you to our chapter’s website.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19. We are dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by supporting children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty. The national organization is divided into 252 chapters that span 7 geographic regions and represent over 40,000 family members nationwide. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. promotes public awareness concerning the interests of children including child development, child growth, child quality of life, childcare, and the promotion of children’s rights.
Programming is the heart and soul of our organization. Chapter programming is centered around our five programmatic thrusts: civic (legislative advocacy and service), cultural awareness, education, health (education and advocacy), and social/recreational. Through advocacy, educational enrichment, leadership development, programming, and community service, we create a medium that empowers and inspires children while stimulating growth and development.
Our chapter’s 2021-2023 theme is: Redefining Our Future: Engaging, Enriching, Empowering. We stand poised to serve and support our community as we begin to define the “new normal” created by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we continue to strive to be effective catalysts for positive change. Although we remain committed to nurturing and strengthening children by providing social, cultural, leadership, civic, philanthropic, and educational opportunities, we are redefining the ways in which we engage, empower, and enrich both our members and our community.
The Jack and Jill of America Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Its mission is to address issues affecting African American children and families by investing in programs and services aimed to improve academic test scores, raise literacy and mathematical competencies, encourage cultural consciousness, and instill moral and social responsibility in America’s youth.
We are excited that you have stopped by to learn more about our organization, our programming, our community outreach programs, and the benefits of membership! Enjoy exploring all that Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has to offer!
In Service to Jack and Jill,
